The
Secrets of Uncertainty...

and the
Mathematics of the Unknown
From Aristotle through Newton, over some 2000 years, we have steadily developed an attitude adjustment that, in some ways, delivered us from the constant uncertainty and insecurity of the domination of chance.
In fact, nearing the finale of the 19th century, science thought it had achieved total domination over the vicissitudes and dangers of chance and uncertainty. But its persistent inquiry into the depths and breadths of the most miniscule corners of existence brought it to a face-to-face encounter - an encounter with the ubiquity of chance as a foundational participant in the evolution of the universe. Enter the 20th century!

That's when we first peered into the light, literally, and saw that chance is just “the way the world works.” Modern science has had no alternative than to turn to chance and embrace it; to adopt it as an essential thread that runs through all of time and space, and through all of science. And so, our philosophies have had to begin to play catchup.
